Report delayed

The Herald, Saturday 15th September 2007, by Robbie Dunwoody.

ABUSED former residents of children's homes face another delay before publication of a report into their treatment over 45 years.

The report by an expert from Northern Ireland, originally due a year ago and postponed in March for a further six months, is now promised in November. Adam Ingram, Minister for Young People, said in a parliamentary reply:

“I have agreed to Tom Shaw's request for approval to submit his report of the Historical Abuse Systemic Review: Residential Care for Children and Young People in Scotland 1950-1995 by 15 November 2007. It will be published shortly thereafter.”
